Dear families, students, teachers and members of the educational community:
My name is Luis López Caro, and I am a Geography and History teacher, but I am addressing you all now as the principal of IES Antonio Calvin, a position I assumed with responsibility and enthusiasm at the beginning of the 2024-2025 academic year, after several years of dedication as Head of Studies. This new stage represents for me not only a personal challenge, but also an opportunity to continue promoting the growth and prestige of our school.
From the very beginning, I have worked with the firm purpose of placing the name of IES Antonio Calvin at the forefront, convinced that educational excellence is built day by day, with effort, commitment, and dedication. Our students are a reflection of this commitment: well-prepared, respectful young people with strong values, who receive a comprehensive education in an environment that values both academic and personal development.
We are not walking this path alone. The role of teachers, families, and students themselves is essential . Each of us assumes a great responsibility in the educational task, and it is precisely this collaboration that allows us to move forward with firm steps toward a quality, inclusive, and transformative education.
In recent months, we have made a firm commitment to technological innovation, modernizing our facilities, and improving the aesthetics of our common areas. The upgrading of the sports courts, the renovation of the computer labs, and the modernization of the ICT classrooms are just a few examples of the work we have carried out, always with the aim of providing a dignified, functional, and motivating environment.
Furthermore, our school is proud to be a European Parliament Ambassador School , which reinforces our commitment to democratic values, active citizenship, and the European dimension of education. Thanks to the Erasmus+ programs, an increasing number of students are traveling abroad, undertaking internships in European companies, and enriching their education with international experiences that open new doors and horizons.
