The English Department at our secondary school in Ciudad Real is known for its commitment to high-quality, innovative, student-centered teaching. Our main goal is to develop communicative competence in English, encouraging active participation, confidence, and motivation among students in a friendly and stimulating environment. We are a bilingual school, which reinforces the presence of English in the classroom on a daily basis and promotes more natural and meaningful learning. In addition, we organize groups of purely bilingual students, which allows us to adapt the pace and methodology to the specific needs of these students and maximize their linguistic progress.
The department is made up of seven teachers with solid academic training and extensive experience at different educational levels. This diversity enriches teamwork and ensures coordinated and consistent teaching throughout all stages. The teaching staff is committed to active methodologies, the use of digital resources, project-based work, and the integration of cultural content.
The English Department also stands out for its involvement in complementary activities and educational projects, as well as for the personalized attention it gives to students. All of this contributes to creating a positive learning environment and preparing students to succeed in an increasingly globalized academic and social context.

The English Department at our secondary school in Ciudad Real organizes a variety of activities throughout the year to promote language learning and interest in Anglo-Saxon culture. These include themed weeks, during which students participate in workshops, competitions, and cultural activities related to English-speaking countries. The school also offers 4th-year bilingual ESO students the opportunity to take the B1 certification exam from the Official Language School, facilitating the attainment of an official qualification. Participation in Erasmus exchange programs is also encouraged, allowing students to have an international experience, improve their language skills, and learn about other European education systems. Finally, students have the opportunity to participate in a language immersion program at the CRIEC (Regional Center for Research and Innovation in English) in Castilla-La Mancha, an intensive experience that reinforces the use of English in a motivating and practical environment.
